This is the page where this association offically endorses the single payer Canadian style system as being cheaper and more just, as well as covering all citizens. Pardon me for setting out a long quote that was carefully documented on the page: "So who are the American uninsured? Overall they are hard working, increasingly middle-class citizens who probably could have afforded insurance for their families ten years ago, but have now been squeezed out of the market by forces beyond their control. They are also the chronically ill who encounter nothing but closed doors from an increasingly profit-oriented industry. Bankruptcy is a continuous specter and needed care is often delayed for financial reasons. The charitable services available to them are shrinking, out-of-pocket expenses are increasing and the situation is projected only to worsen."
